Margaret Ann “Margi” Mattson, age 69, of Renton, Washington, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2017, with her family at her side.

Margi was daughter of the late John Dobson and Carol [Kirby] Dobson.

Margi graduated from Renton High School (1965) and the University of Washington (1969 – accounting degree). While Margi loved riding her horses, painting ceramics, raising the dogs she bred, her volunteer work with the MS Society and time spent with family & friends…nothing brought her more pride & joy than being the devoted mother of 2 beautiful girls and their activities & adventures. Later in life, Margi was able to enjoy her music (she attended countless concerts), her television routine and experiencing the natural beauty – especially the birds – which greeted her daily through her windows of her home in Renton.

She is survived by her daughters Mindy [Mattson] Simpson (husband Ian Simpson) and Wendy “Shayne” Mattson; her two granddaughters Addison & Avery (daughters of Mindy & Ian); her brother, Wyman Dobson (wife Vicki); a handful of nieces, a nephew & their children; and her long-time companion, Jack McCandliss. She was predeceased by her sister, Carol [Dobson] Buettner.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 11th at 11:00am at New Life Church (15711 152nd Ave SE, Renton – the old Aquabarn) with a reception to follow.
