L. JUNE JOHNSON

L. June Johnson

L. June Johnson, 90, of Renton, WA passed peacefully in her sleep on March 4, 2017 in the comfort of her home overlooking the Cedar River.

June was born at the Renton Hospital and worked at Safeway for 37 years where she was an Executive Secretary for the meat department.

June loved to travel; she and her best friend Audrey went on 5 cruises together – of which her favorites were the Panama Canal & a cruise from Seattle to the Hawaiian Islands. She kept constantly busy and always had weekly plans. Her favorite places to eat were Moe’s in Renton and the Mayflower in Tukwila.

She was very independent and spunky, if you crossed her she would let you know. She wouldn’t hesitate to warn you that she was a little Swede and you didn’t want to get her mad.

June loved life and was a wonderful friend to all she met.

Although June never married she was not short on family. She was the caretaker for her grandma, mom, dad, step-dad Rocky, and nephew Rick. She leaves behind her best friend and traveling companion Audrey Williams, cousins Marian & John Frazier, Lynn, Jeff & Hailey King, her adopted families of Jamie, Jay, and John Williams, and many close friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, March 21st, from 3pm – 5pm, Renton Community Center, 1715 Maple Valley Hwy, Renton, WA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in June’s honor to: St. Matthews Church, 1700 Edmonds Ave NE, Renton WA 98056.
