John (Jack) V. Ahearn, Jr.

John (Jack) Ahearn, Jr. (93) of Renton, passed away July 25, 2016 at Wesley Home Health Care in Des Moines, WA. Born in Bremerton, WA, February 7, 1923 to John V. Ahearn, Sr and Goldie Hart Ahearn. Educated in Bremerton and graduated from UW with a B.S. in Engineering.

Worked at Bremerton Shipyards before going into Navy during WWII, serving on Guam where he worked on damaged ships repairing damaged radar and electrical systems.

After 32 years working for Boeing, he retired and took up wood carving. He was very proud to have become a Master Carver and won many ribbons for his beautiful bird carvings.

Jack is survived by his wife of 32 years, the former Marilyn Huffaker, 3 daughters, Kathleen Gapasin, Cynthia Herberg and Diane Pinon; 3 step children, David Christ, Linda Reece and Mark Hinds, 13 grandchildren and 5 great grands.

A memorial will be held 3 p.m., August 7th, at Highlands Community Church, 3031 NE 10th St., Renton.
