JOHN “JACK” MOON

Jack Moon passed away on September 7, 2018, the age of 93. He was born on October 2, 1924 to Travis Lee and Marie Shaughnessy Moon in Spokane, WA.

He was in the class of 1943 at Gonzaga High School in Spokane and joined the Army Air Corp in February, 1943.

Jack flew combat as a gunner on a B-29 with the 315th Bomb Wing. He and his crew were on the last mission of WWII, August 14 and 15, 1945.

He was a Teamster as a concrete truck driver for 32 years and retired from Stoneway Concrete in July, 1987. It was the best job in the world (it beats being a dentist, Pop).

Jack was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Teresa Lynn Moon and his beloved son, Patrick Lee Moon. He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Lee Meyers (Mary); Sue Ann Neher; good friends Jim Driscoll and Rich Melewski; 4 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 19, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Greenwood Memorial Park 350 Monroe Ave NE, Renton, WA 98055.
