Attilio Angelo Franceschina

Attilio Angelo Franceschina (“Til”) was born to Eduardo and Luigia Franceschina on May 22, 1927 in Minneapolis, MN before moving to Renton, WA in 1930. Til passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 22nd, 2016, his 89th birthday.

Til grew up on Talbot Hill in Renton and graduated from Renton High School. After high school Til joined the US Navy, serving from 1945 to 1947. He later attended the University of Washington be fore starting his lifelong career in the terrazzo, tile and marble business. He learned the trade from his father working at Northwest Marble and Terrazzo before joining General Terrazzo and Tile Company until he retired in 1993.

Til met the love of his life, Jean, his partner of 59 years, while both were vacationing in Italy in 1955. His world revolved around family and friends. He was a loving husband, father and nonno and was grateful to share his life with his family, all living in the Seattle area and was involved in all of their lives. He set an example of hard work, integrity and honesty and was a great mentor for his sons and grandsons.

Til and Jean cherished their time with close friends and neighbors enjoying potluck dinners, weekends away, and activities with families and he always looked forward to morning cups of coffee with close friends. He will be dearly missed by all those who loved him.

Til is survived by his wife Jean and three sons, Steven (Darcy), Douglas (Lindsey) and Michael (Jennifer), four grandchildren, Brett, Kyle, Matthew, Nathan as well as his sister, Angelina Della Rossa and brother Edward (Gerry) and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration Mass at St. Anthony’s Parish in Renton on Wednesday, June 1st at 10:30 am. Viewing will be at Greenwood Memorial in Renton on Tuesday, May 31st from 3pm to 7pm.
