Using technology to empower learning

Michelle Zimmerman, University of Washington graduate and director of Renton Prep, is helping set new standards for how educators use technology to help students.

According to an article on the University of Washington’s website, Zimmerman focuses on data collection through technology. At Renton Prep, she uses laptops to help record an mentoring sessions they have with students in lower grades.

This provides instant feedback and allows students to ask questions.

“Applying innovative teaching practices and seeking answers to questions were two values Zimmerman developed while studying at the UW College of Education,” the article said.
