King Conservation District is hosting a forum on Tuesday at King County Wastewater Treatment Plant.

King Conservation District is hosting an forum on hugelkultur on Tuesday, June 6.

Hugelkultur is an aspect of permaculture that has been used in Central Europe in bot urban and rural setting, and migrated to the states 15 years ago. The forum will include working landscape and permaculture professionals who will offer their knowledge on how to incorporate hugelkultur into your landscape design.

Learn about Hugelkultur, the European art of mound building, that provides long-term source of plant nutrients, creation of healthy soil, more surface area for plants, water retention in the soil, and use of recyclable material from your property.

The event is 6:30 – 8 p.m. at the King County Wastewater Treatment Plant (enter from Longacres Road) in the Admin Building Conference Room and then venture out to CitySoil Farm to check out several demonstration mounds.
