King County Sheriff’s detectives want to hear from victims of unreported assaults

The King County Sheriff’s Office is looking for female victims that may not have reported an assault similar to one that occured on March 2.

Around 2:30 a.m. in the 9600 block of 15th Ave. SW, deputies responsed to reports that a woman had been severely beaten and sexually assaulted, according to a media release Tuesday.

The release added, the suspect is a 21 year old male who had grabbed the 55 year old woman and tried to drag her to a secluded area before assaulting her.

The suspect fled on foot. Witnesses called 911 and the suspect was later caught and arrested.

The vicitm sustained critical injuries and is still at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in a medical coma, the release said.

Detectives believe the woman is homeless.

“Because of the serious nature of the crime detectives believe there may be unreported or unsolved cases similar in nature,” Sgt. Cindi West, media relations for the Sheriff’s Office, said in the release.

She added, detectives believed the suspect may have lived in Tukwila, Auburn, Kent and south King County.
