Kent man pleads not guilty in fatal shooting at Renton apartment.

A 32-year-old Kent man pleaded not guilty Thursday morning to second-degree murder in the shooting death March 20 of a West Seattle man at a Renton apartment complex.

A 32-year-old Kent man pleaded not guilty Thursday morning to second-degree murder in the shooting death March 20 of a West Seattle man at a Renton apartment complex.

Brandon Lamar Green is charged with  shooting Michael Anthony Flowers, 33, multiple times, according to King County prosecutors.

Green, a convicted felon, also pleaded not guilty to second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.

A case setting hearing is scheduled for April 14 at 1 p.m. in courtroom GA of the Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent. Green remains in jail with bail set at $2 million.

If convicted, Green faces a sentencing range of 19 years to 28 years, according to prosecutors.

Arriving Renton Police officers found Green critically wounded in the parking lot of the Plum Tree Park Apartments, 200 S.W. Fifth Pl., at about 6:30 a.m. There was blood near his groin area. Green was treated at Harborview Medical Center, then transported to jail

Green’s girlfriend, with whom he has an 8-year-old child, and a neighbor were crouched over him. A woman called out from her balcony that another person was shot inside her apartment.

Officers found Flowers with gunshot wounds to his chest and buttocks.
