City of Renton is accepting design proposals for downtown signs

The city is looking to commission one or more local artists for the signs.

The City of Renton is requesting design proposals for four “monument,” signs that will be installed at key entry points in the historic downtown core.

The city is looking to commission designs from one or more artists working in the community.

The opportunity is open to visual artists working in any medium, provided the design can be digitally reproduced as a vinyl wrap.

The city stated in a press release, that the goals of the project are to provide a professional and inviting entrance to the downtown area while also conveying the community’s image as a “vibrant,” and “diverse,” place to work, live and play.

The city will select one or more artist submissions, with the goal of celebrating the rich culture and art of the region.

The city anticipates compensating artists around $500 per selected design.

Completed submissions must be made by Friday May 28 at 5 pm.
