Geraldine McQuiller celebrated her 100th birthday Friday, May 16, at Emeritus Living, in Renton, surrounded by family and friends.

The secret to longevity is “just trying to live the best you know how,” said McQuiller. Originally from Ohio, she grew up in Michigan and moved to Renton in 2000. Five generations of her family were represented at her birthday celebration, which included cake, cards and roses.

McQuiller said some days are good, some days are bad, but she felt wonderful at her party.

“You’re just living and you never realize it until you get this age and such wonderful things happen to you,” McQuiller said.
