Abandoned mobile home fire in Maple Valley | Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety and Renton Regional Fire Authority

A passerby saw a large amount of smoke coming from the abandoned trailer.

Firefighters from Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety along with the Renton Regional Fire Authority were dispatched at 3:32 p.m. Sunday, March 26, to an abandoned mobile home fire at the 22700 block of Upper Dorre Don Way Southeast Street.

A passerby saw a large amount of smoke coming from the abandoned trailer and stopped to see if anybody needed help. Approaching the front door he saw flames coming from the living room window and so called 911. While waiting for the fire department’s arrival, he saw a nearby garden hose, and from a safe distance outside the home, sprayed water on the fire through the broken window.

Fire Engine 81 was the first unit to arrive and attacked the fire while other units checked the home for possible victims. The fire was quickly extinguished and nobody was found to be in the home.

Due to the suspicious nature of the fire a King County fire investigator is still determining the cause.
