Renton man stabbed; suspects flee
A Renton man was stabbed at about 10 p.m. Sept. 18 in the 17300 block of 121st Lane Southeast, according to Renton police.
The victim told police he was walking to his apartment, when he heard rapid sounds of foot
steps come up behind him. He said he was grabbed and pushed into the fence line by the swimming pool by two black males.
The victim stated that the left side of his body was pushed up against the fence, while his other side was exposed, according to police. While he was held against the fence, one of the suspects punched him in the ribs, while the second suspect pulled a knife and attempted to stab him in the exposed side, he told officers.
The two suspects were in their late teens or early 20s.
The victim was not able to describe to officers how he was stabbed and only remembers feeling a “sharp pain,” according to the police report. The victim said as soon as he managed to break away, the two suspects ran away southbound toward Southeast Petrovitsky Road.
The victim had a 6-inch laceration on his left side that was shallow. An aid crew treated the victim and he was taken to Valley Medical Center.
An employee at Pounders Bar on Main Street reported to Renton Police officers that he was assaulted by a drunken man, who then fled the bar, at about 12:45 a.m. Sept. 19.
The employee described the male as white, around 5-foot-8 and 200 pounds, with brown hair and wearing black clothing, according to police.
The suspect, a Renton man, entered the bar but was told he would not be served due to being too intoxicated already, according to police. The suspect became angry but was escorted out of the bar by a family member. About 15 minutes later, the suspect re-entered the bar and started knocking over tables and kicking stools.
The suspect walked directly toward the employee and appeared angry, as if he was ready to fight, according to the police report. Fearful, the employee grabbed the man in a bear hug in hopes of escorting him from the bar.
Instead, according to police, the suspect immediately dropped to the ground and tackled the employee by his legs. The employee fell onto his back and the suspect punched him several times, according to police.
An officer found the suspect hiding behind a Dumpster. He was booked for investigation of fourth-degree assault at Renton City Jail.
