53rd Renton Citizens Academy begins Sept. 11

Have you ever been interested in how the police department really works?  Wonder what officers do during their shift?  Join the Citizens Academy and find out!

The 53rd session of the Renton Police Department's Citizen's Academy begins Sept. 11. The academy will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursdays for 12 weeks.

Classes include: Patrol operations, SWAT, hostage negotiations, investigations, K9 and more. There will also be a tour of the jail and communications center, and a ride-along with a patrol officer.

Class size is limited to 25 students, and all applicants must pass a background check.
