Several individuals hurt in collision that closed Grady Way in Tukwila

Several individuals were hurt in a multiple-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon that closed Southwest Grady Way for about three hours, according to the Tukwila Police Department.

An eastbound Oldsmobile crossed the centerline and collided with two westbound vehicles in the 7000 block of Southwest Grady Way at about 4:50 p.m., according to a Tukwila news release.

The occupants of the first westbound vehicle suffered serious injuries and were transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The occupants of the second vehicle were treated at the scene and released.

The male driver of the Oldsmobile was arrested for investigation of two counts of vehicular assault and for investigation of driving under the influence.

Southwest Grady Way was closed in both directions for three hours while officers investigated the crash scene.

Excessive speed and driver impairment appear to be contributing factors in the collision, according to the news release.

The collision is under investigation by the Tukwila Police Department's Traffic Unit.

Renton fire and police personnel also responded to the accident.
