New Tukwila Sounder Station parking lot to open; platform closure coming

Starting Monday, Dec. 16, the new parking lot west of the railroad tracks at the Tukwila Sounder Station will open for customer use.

The current parking lot will be closed (except for ADA parking and bicycle lockers) for construction.

For two weeks only, (Dec. 16 through Jan. 1, 2014), passengers will need to walk along the west-side platform, go down the stairs, cross underneath the trackway to access the east-side platform.

The second of four scheduled platform closures will start Thursday, Jan. 2, and last for four weeks. All passengers will use the west-side platform.

Because all trains will share one track through the Tukwila Station area during this temporary closure, riders could experience minor delays on Sounder service.
