Sleeter defeats hospital district incumbent; Drennen continues to lead

Dr. Tamara Sleeter has taken an unbeatable lead over incumbent Sue Bowman of Renton for Bowman’s seat on the Public Hospital District No. 1 Board of Commissioners in Tuesday’s general election.

But in the race for the District 3 commission seat, the results are not as certain. Barbara Drennen of Kent is leading Albert Haylor, 51.12 percent to 48.66 percent, a difference that has changed little since election night.

In votes, Drennen had 19,121 to Haylor's 18,196 as of Friday afternoon.

The winner will replace Anthony Hemstad on the commission; he moved from the hospital district.

Sleeter of Renton has continued to slightly increase her lead for the District 5 seat as new results were released each day. The Friday results showed her with 59.92 percent of the vote to Bowman's 39.83 percent.

The county will continue to post results online each weekday afternoon, and possibly at other times, through Nov. 25. Final results will be posted at 4 p.m. Nov. 26.
