A man carrying a pump-action shotgun robbed the KFC store on Carr Road just before 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Detectives were interviewing store employees as Renton Police officers were doing an extensive search of the area for the man.

Investigators were determining what the man stole.

The suspect is described as a medium-build black male of unknown age, wearing a green camouflage hoody, black pants, black bandana, gloves and sunglasses.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the armed robbery is asked to call 911.

Officers searched the nearby Fred Meyer and contacted other businesses, including a day-care center. Police were to look at Fred Meyer security video.

The KFC is on the western edge of the North Benson Shopping Plaza at the intersection of Carr Road and Benson Road.
