City Council to hear discussionon Smart meters prior to Monday's meeting

The Renton City Council will meet for its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday in the Council Chambers of the seventh floor of City Hall.

Items on the agenda is a possible change to the city's animal code to revise the definition of "vicious" and reducing the penalties first-time and second-time  for animal noise.

Prior to the regular meeting, the council will conduct a committee of the whole meeting at 6 p.m. to receive a presentation from the city regarding the use of smart water meters in the city.

Also on Monday, the council's finance committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. to discuss vouchers. The utilities committee meeting normally set for the day has been canceled.
