Renton police found a 70-year-old Renton man dead of a gunshot wound Wednesday morning at a park on Union Avenue Northeast in the Highlands.
Police received a 911 call at about 11:30 a.m. from a man who said he was going to kill himself, according to Detective Robert Onishi, a spokesman for the Renton Police Department. The 911 call receiver then heard an apparent gunshot.
Officers found the man at the entrance to the park and the gun was nearby. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
