Four McKnight Middle School students placed fourth at the Washington State History Day competition at the University of Washington April 26.

These students are Jordan Dawkins, Mary Nguyen, Thomas Nguyen and Jennifer Diep. The student’s project was on the legal case of Bakke vs. UC Davis, which dealt with reverse discrimination in higher education. The McKnight group competed in a pool of 31 projects.

McKnight sent a record 14 students to the state contest. These students advanced to state from the South Puget Sound Regional History Day competition at Green River Community College, and the earlier History Day competition at McKnight.
