Twelve Hazen High School students were recognized as Outstanding Seniors at Wednesday’s Renton School Board meeting.

Principal Sue Beeson introduced the students as a multi-talented group that carried a full and varied academic schedule rich with athletics, activities and fine arts.

Beeson said the students are successful in the classroom and active in the community and in service organizations.

Students spoke briefly during the presentation about what made them successful in school and motivated them in their personal life. They recognized their parents in attendance, acknowledged friendships with other students and honored “Most Inspirational” teachers.

Hazen High School’s Outstanding Seniors are: Maly Khov, Yen Nguyen, Brian Kooiman, Desta Olds, Michaela Kusumi, Michael Sloan, Kelsey Mahan, Emily Strom, Monica Nevi, Michael Teal, Bennett Ng and Laure Thompson.
