Renton PTSA Council honors its volunteers

The Renton PTSA Council recently held its annual Founders Day celebration to honor its volunteers and the national organization’s founding.

Special state PTA Awards were presented to volunteers:

• Golden Acorn Award: Carrie Wong

• Advocacy Award: Marcie Maxwell and Jay Leviton

• Outstanding Service Award: Pam Teal

• Life Membership Award: Anne Rittenhouse

In addition to Founders Day, the Renton PTSA Council holds an auction and the money raised goes toward the high school scholarship program. Renton PTSA will give up to six $500 scholarships . This year the council has raised more than $4,700.
