Woman critically injured when hit by vehicle on Lake Washington Boulevard

A woman who remained unidentified for several hours was critically injured Saturday morning when she was hit by a vehicle while jogging or walking along Lake Washington Boulevard.

The woman was only able to give her name as “Ros” or “Rose” before she lost consciousness and was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to the Renton Police Department. Her name hasn’t been released.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested for investigation of vehicular assault.

Units from Renton Fire & Emergency Services responded to the 3800 block of Lake Washington Boulevard at about 8:45 a.m. Saturday. The woman, then believed to be in her 30s or 40s, had been thrown 25 to 30 feet into blackberry bushes when she was hit by the vehicle.

The woman did not carry any identification, prompting police to ask the public’s help to identify her. According to police, the public’s help was important to identifying her.
