Altered Barbie Art Show starts May 4

May 3, 2012 · 5:23 PM

Happy Delusions, the local spot for crafters, jewelers and designers, will host an "Altered Barbie Art Show" May 4 through May 30 at the store, 924 S. Third St., in Renton.

The opening reception for 'The Altered Barbie Art Show" is 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the shop.

The idea behind this juried art show is to have people, whether they love Barbie or hate her, to display what the doll means to them.

The call for artists explained that the work did not have to be narrative, but reflect a Barbie theme.

Whether that took artist to some place sweet or dark was up to them. No overtly sexual or violent images will be displayed.

Each artist was allowed to submit three pieces. For more information call, (425)255-6078 or visit the store's blog.
