Renton, Seattle officers make high-risk traffic stop

April 17, 2012 · 4:48 PM

Renton Police officers assisted the Seattle Police Department Tuesday morning in a high-risk traffic stop near Northeast Third Street and Sunset Boulevard, according to the Renton Police Department.

Details of why Seattle officers stopped the suspects weren't immediately available. But Seattle Police Detective Jeff Kappel said in such traffic stops, officers know they are dealing with a high-risk suspect or situation.

The suspects fled in a vehicle, striking three other cars at about 11:30 a.m. Their car then became inoperable, according to Terri Vickers, a Renton Police spokeswoman.

The suspects were arrested.
