Valley Medical installs eight vehicle charging stations

March 14, 2012 · 3:51 PM

In an effort to support a sustainable community, Valley Medical Center (VMC) installed eight ChargePoint electric vehicle charging stations on its campus that are now ready for use.

Four stations are located in the hospital’s main campus parking lot A, two are in the physician parking area, and two are located on the first floor (west side) of the MAC parking garage at the north end of VMC’s campus. VMC received the stations through a partnership with the City of Renton who received federal grant dollars to install stations in the city.

“Over the past several years we’ve made enhancements that lessen the hospital system’s footprint on the environment,” said Paul Hayes, RN, executive vice president.

Currently, anyone with an electric vehicle – staff, patients, the public – can recharge their vehicles at no cost, but will need to sign up for a free ChargePass card from ChargePoint to activate the120 V and 240 V stations.
