Fire damages home near downtown Renton Thursday

A fire damaged a home Thursday morning in the 3500 block of Mill Avenue South, according to the Renton Fire & Emergency Services.
The call initially came in as a "food on the stove" call but was elevated to a working fire after fire crews arrived. It appears to have started in a bedroom, although smoke extended into the rest of the house, according to the department.
A fire investigator was to enter the house to determine cause as soon as the air quality inside improved.
Twenty-five fire personnnel from three agencies responded.
