Two men, one from Kent and one from Renton were charged in an online child sex sting operation on April 24. Net Nanny Operation lead to 12 arrests, including 36-year-old Fletcher Kilpatrick from Kent and 58-year-old James D. William from Renton, according to a press release.

The Washington State Patrols’s Missing and Exploited Children’s task force arrested 12 male suspects in a multi-day operation. They targeted men who wanted to sexually exploit children.

“Thanks to the hard work of everyone involved in this operation, child predators are taken off the street, “ WSP Chief John R. Batiste said. “ This operation protects our most vulnerable members of our community from abuse and makes the internet safer for our children.”

The charges included attempted child rape, communication with a minor for immoral purposes and commercial sexual abuse of a minor.

Undercover law enforcement officers communicated with individuals looking into having sex with children, through various websites. Through the websites, officers received hundreds of responses. The ones who were arrested were those who traveled to meet with the undercover detectives who were posing as young girls and boys that were going to engage in sexual activity with them.

This is the seventh operation in Washington since 2015. The Net Nanny Operation has netted a total of 84 arrests throughout the state.
