A 27-year-old Maple Valley man died of stab wounds  early  Sunday morning following a bar fight at the Red Dog Saloon on the Maple Valley Highway, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

Injured  was the man’s father, 49, also of Maple Valley. He underwent surgery at Harborview Medical Center and his condition was unknown early Sunday. His son died at Harborview.

The Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect,  a 40-year-old man who lives nearby. He had left the scene with a woman about two hours earlier.

The fight broke out at about 12:45 a.m. at the Red Dog Saloon, 18605 Renton – Maple Valley Road S.E. in unincorporated King County, involving 10 to 15 bar patrons, according to Sgt. John Urquhart. They were either fighting or trying to break up the fight. Two of those were the son and his father.

The fight subsided and some participants were pushed out of the bar, according to Urquhart.  The father and son were stabbed in the parking lot.

The suspect was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of homicide and assault.
