Renton Police is seeking help from the public to identify an armed robber who struck a Subway restaurant on Dec. 6.
The suspect entered the Subway restaurant at 235 Rainier Ave. S. at about 8:25 p.m., pulled a revolver from his waistband and ordered the employee to open the cash register, according to the Renton Police Department. The employee was unable to open the register, and the suspect removed cash from the tip jar before leaving.
The suspect is described as a light-skinned, possibly African-American, male. He is between 6-foot and 6-foot-2, with a thin build. He was wearing a black beanie and a distinctive white jacket with dark-patterned sleeves and dark stripes around the collar and wrists.
This suspect may have been involved in four other robberies in the south Puget Sound area; in two of those cases he was working with an accomplice. Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to contact Detective Keyes at 425-430-7522 reference case No. 10-13534.
Information about the four additional cases is not available at this time.
