Yes, if it's after 11:30 p.m. this evening (Monday) and you're still up and you're on Rainier Avenue, that really is (was) a 1946 Ercoupe taxing toward the Holiday Inn.

The Ercoupe, a low-wing monoplane based in Arlington, is part of the celebration surrounding the relaunch of the Holiday Inn Hotel in Renton, which has undergone an extensive renovation in recent months.

The relaunch Tuesday is invitation-only.

The plane will taxi down Airport Way to Rainier Avenue and then to the Holiday Inn.

Also on display Tuesday is a 10-foot model of the "Seattle" Douglas World Cruiser, which flew around the world in 1924.
