The Wine Alley named ‘Best Wine Shop’
November 3, 2008 · Updated 2:46 PM
The Wine Alley, owned and operated by Scott and Allison Helfen in the Fairwood Shopping Center, was voted “Best Wine Shop” in Evening Magazine’s “Best of Western Washington” contest.
Last year, The Wine Alley earned top ranking in the “Best Wine Selection” category on the annual KING-5 viewer poll.
The Wine Alley opened in 2005. The Helfens review wines for the Renton Reporter, as do the Kofmehls of All Things Wine and David Allen of Greenfresh Market.
Recently, the Helfens added to their sales space – short of expanding into adjacent space at the center. A new racking system allowed the Helfens to increase their inventory by a nearly a third, to more than 750 wines.
The Wine Alley is located at 14276 S.E. 176th St. in Renton’s Fairwood Shopping Center.
