Three local chambers of commerce — Renton, Kent and Southside Seattle — came together Thursday evening for an After Hours Luau celebration at the Red Lion in Renton.

More than 250 attendees including Renton School District Superintendent Damien Pattenaude were there to celebrate the business community in these cities.

Pattenaude jumped in the swimming pool to raise money for the New Teachers Celebration scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 22 at Renton Technical College.

This annual celebration helps welcome new teachers to the city of Renton.

According to the Renton Chamber, there are more than 200 new teachers this year.

For more information on the New Teachers Breakfast, visit the chamber’s website.
