City seeking candidates for Senior Advisory Committee

Members serve without compensation and must be able to attend meetings.

The city of Renton is seeking candidates to serve on the Senior Advisory Committee. Each member will be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council.

Members serve without compensation and must be able to attend meetings the first and third Mondays of each month at 10 a.m. at the Renton Senior Activity Center.

Residents who represent the diverse nature of the city, including ethnicity, geography, gender and age are encouraged to apply.

The committee assists the Community Services Department and city staff in developing procedures governing the operation of the Renton Senior Activity Center. The group acts in an advisory capacity to the Mayor and City Council on matters of particular interest to senior citizens of the community.

Completed applications should be returned to Shawn Daly at the senior center or mailed to the city of Renton, Mayor’s Office, 1055 South Grady Way, Renton, WA 98057.

Applications must be received by 5 p.m. Nov. 28, 2016.
