"Distance running takes dedication, commitment, and a positive attitude. I have no doubt that Ryan will take a similar approach to public office and go the distance for Renton."
"As a Human Resources consultant, Carol Ann has a professional maturity that allows her to listen to many different viewpoints in an open and respectful manner."
"Not only will this levy help our children, it is a program for continued economic growth because it will help us nurture the problem solvers and innovators our communities need."
"We hear a lot about reducing crime. Proposition 1 will do just that. When we invest in kids early, they are much less likely to end up in jail or prison later in life."
"Having another landmark building will bring to four the total number of landmarks in Renton—here’s hoping we continue to build that number!"
"The smartest and most responsible investment we can make is in the future of our kids and that is why the YMCA is strongly supporting Best Starts for Kids."
"As a working mother of two small children, I trust Ryan to be a voice for family issues on our City Council."
"One has to look up north and see how neighborhoods are filling with cars to avoid these tolls. Cars do not belong in neighborhoods, they belong on the freeway!"
"Women have been struggling to advance in a system that’s rigged against us. I was told that if I worked hard enough, I could accomplish anything. That’s just not true."
"What planet am I on? Was he talking about the city and its staff members or himself or who?"
"The Seamount League, with the exceptions of Kennedy, Lindbergh and Hazen, is becoming a throwaway league, a league that most of the high school and college scouts don’t take seriously."
"During the fire and to date, excess water runs from the destroyed building down Main Street to the Cedar River where it enters the river unfiltered in any way."
"This community can be proud of our new library and quality services available to our families."
"We wanted to form our own opinion about this controversial building because a library is an important community resource and every part of the building – location, architecture, interior – must be well suited to its purpose."
"A friend of mine said it looked like a giant toaster. He was more generous in his remarks than I."
"Currently there are 100,000 Washingtonians living with Alzheimer’s disease, and that number will grow to 140,000 by 2025."
"After so much controversy and compromise to complete the much-awaited project, it’s hard to understand a negative snarky letter in the Reporter even before it’s open to the public."
I’m writing the Renton Reporter in order to voice my endorsement for Ryan McIrvin for Renton City Council (Position 4).
I just wanted to take a moment to tell you about my fellow colleague Ryan McIrvin.
Savannah Clifford-Visker raises some valid points in her voters pamphlet regarding her candidacy for Valley Medical Center Commissioner. She has a good understanding of the current situation and hopefully could work toward making some worthwhile changes if elected.
