Lights, camera, Curvees!

Tonight's event is free and open to the public.

A record-setting 25 filmmaking teams from cities throughout the region entered this year's sixth annual 50-hour FilmFrenzy and 23 teams completed films and turned them in by the deadline.

Teams included nine student division teams (high school and below) and 16 open division teams. Several teams were participating in the FilmFrenzy for the first time and producers came from Seattle, Bellevue, Olympia, Milton, Edmonds, Des Moines and Renton.

Filmmakers are competing for a total of $1,700 in prize money. In addition, all of the films will be posted on the Renton Reporter website beginning Oct. 23 for voting in the People's Choice Award.

The filming took place in Renton from 5 p.m. Oct. 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 6.

The Renton FilmFrenzy is sponsored by the Renton Community Marketing Campaign, which includes the Renton Chamber of Commerce, Renton School District, UW Medicine/Valley Medical Center, Renton Technical College, Renton Visitors Connection and the City of Renton.
