The Renton City Council has recognized Cascade Canoe and Kayak for a strong showing at the USA Canoe and Kayak Championships this summer.

Cascade has a boathouse at the mouth of the Cedar River and is a concession of the City of Renton Parks Department.

The boathouse also has a paddle shop and a place to rent. The Cascade race teams practice year-round.

Paddlers Matthew Lam and Carlin Chuck are now the national champions for double high kneel canoe for the Bantam Division.

Wilbert Lam and Caleb Chuck also claimed third in Juvenile C-4. Also participating for the first time was Michael Weyna.
