Steve Roth of Renton was among the local winners to pack home trophies in the 2009 Medalist World Championship Dart Tournament in Las Vegas.

The tournament drew more than 1,240 daily entries, including international ones, to compete for $210,000 in prize money last month.

Representing the Pickled Onion Pub in Renton, Roth captured the ’01 Medley “A” Singles flight by defeating Spain’s Benito Cruz Moreno in their title showdown. Roth won $900 for his victory.

The field of players was comprised of Medalist League players from across the United States. The event also had an international flavor with players from Spain, France, England, Thailand and Japan.
