Hundreds of dozens of cookies will be for sale at the Seattle Milk Fund Annual Holiday Cookie Fest Dec. 13 at Renton Technical College. Doors open at 9 a.m.

Proceeds from both the cookies, donated by local bakeries, and a gingerbread house raffle, will go to the Seattle Milk Fund, which helps families in need throughout the greater Seattle area.

The Seattle Milk Fund was started in 1907 by a small group of women who brought food to the needy. The organization continued through the Great Depression and World War II. Today, the Seattle Milk Fund provides local families with assistance including vouchers for food and shoes, school supplies, college scholarships, childcare grants, household supplies and holiday support.

The event is free. Renton Technical College is at 3000 N.E. Fourth Street.
