Kira Kusumi performs a Japanese dance at the first annual “World of Kennydale” Potluck at Kennydale Elementary School last month. Kira is a fourth grader at Kennydale. More than 340 people attended the multicultural celebration, sponsored by Kennydale PTA. The party included food, clothing, dancing, art and storytelling. Naomi Tandal and her family taught Polynesian dances. Thirty-four Kennydale cultures were represented. Kennydale Elementary supporter and state senator Fred Jarrett also spoke at the event.
