King County releases river survey

King County’s Water and Land Resources Division (WLRD) is releasing the results of a new customer survey that explores the opinions of King County residents about rivers, how rivers are used and how they are managed.

The survey results will be used to improve education about flood risk reduction projects, river hazards and river safety. The survey report is available at www.kingcounty.gov/rivers.

King County used a local research firm last fall to conduct the 2011 River Management Telephone Survey, with a goal of using the feedback to improve river management and communication practices.

The telephone survey is a representative sample of 703 residents, and results have a margin of error of 3.7 percent. An online survey was also done and collected 728 responses.
