The Renton Civic Theater is presenting its final of two plays – both designed to empower women and girls – this weekend to benefit the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center and the theater.

Tonight and Saturday at 8 p.m. the theater will present “A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer: Writings to End Violence Against Women & Girls.” This is a ground-breaking collection of monologues written by world-renowned authors and playwrights.

On stage last week was “The Vagina Monologues: V-day Edition,” an award-winning play based on interviews with more than 200 women that celebrates sexuality and strength. It drew a good crowd and raised several hundred dollars for the agency, said artistic director Bill Huls.

Tickets for the shows are $15. They are available at the door or online at www.rentoncivictheater.org. The theater is at 507 S. Third St. in downtown Renton.
