The Landing to hold tree lighting festival

The Landing in Renton is presenting its First Reindeer Games Holiday Tree Lighting Festival Saturday with special guests Dasher and Dancer from the Cougar Mountain Zoo in Issaquah.

The family focused evening will offer live music from local choral groups, train rides for the kids and the opening of two new retailers, Poggi Bonsi and c’est le Vie.

The festival is 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at The Landing in north Renton.

Here’s the schedule:

Festivities kick-off at 5 p.m. at the Plaza in front of Regal Cinema

  • Music from local youth choral groups
  • Live reindeer from the Cougar Mountain Zoo
  • Train rides
  • Movin’ 92.5 and Family Man Dan
  • Holiday face painters
  • Holiday balloon artists

The grand finale – the lighting of a 40-foot tree, is at 7:30 p.m.

The live music includes local youth choirs from Hazen High School and Newcastle Elementary School’s Newcastle Lions Chorus will perform carols beginning at 5:30 p.m.
